After a delicious breakfast, your private guide will escort you on an excursion to one of Rioโs most famous landmarks, Sugarloaf Mountain. You’ll ascend in two stages by cable car, witnessing breathtaking, panoramic views of the city unfold below. From the summit, you can see Guanabara Bay, the Rio-Niterรณi Bridge, and Corcovado Mountain in the distance. The afternoon is yours to explore further, perhaps visiting the nearby sands of Ipanema.
Todayโs adventure takes you to the summit of Corcovado Mountain to stand in the presence of the colossal Christ the Redeemer statue. You will journey up through the dense Tijuca Rainforest on a traditional cog train. The statue is an incredible feat of engineering, but the 360-degree views of Rio are equally astounding. Subsequently, you’ll have the rest of the day to relax or explore the city’s bohemian Santa Teresa neighbourhood at your own leisure.
Enjoy a full day at leisure to experience Rio de Janeiro as you wish. You could explore the city’s world-class museums, relax on the sun-drenched beaches, or delve into the vibrant local markets for unique souvenirs. Following breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Foz do Iguaรงu, the gateway to the magnificent Iguazu Falls. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to the Belmond Hotel das Cataratas. This is the only hotel located within the Brazilian Iguassu National Park. Therefore, it offers the incredible privilege of being able to witness the falls after the park has closed to the public.
This morning, you will explore the Brazilian side of the falls with your guide. This perspective offers a stunning panoramic vista of the 275 cascades that stretch for nearly three kilometres. A walkway takes you along the cliff edge, providing incredible photo opportunities and culminating in a viewpoint near the thunderous Devil’s Throat cataract. In the afternoon, you have the exclusive opportunity to enjoy the park’s serene atmosphere without the crowds.
Today you will cross the border into Argentina to experience the falls from a different, more intimate perspective. A network of upper and lower walking trails allows you to get incredibly close to the rushing water. The highlight is undoubtedly the Paseo Garganta del Diablo, a walkway that extends over the river to a viewing platform directly above the most powerful part of the falls, the Devil’s Throat. The sheer power and noise are simply unforgettable.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Foz do Iguaรงu airport for your flight to Manaus, the capital of the Amazon. From here, you will be transferred by vehicle and boat to the Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge. This secluded and luxurious lodge is located on the banks of the Rio Negro. After settling into your chalet, you can take in the sounds of the jungle before dinner. Your Amazonian adventure is about to begin.
Your day is dedicated to exploring the Amazon with expert local guides. The lodge offers a variety of excursions.
