Non-stop flights from Heathrow run all year and take about 11 hours, and spring and autumn bring the most comfortable weather. Your outbound flight from the UK lands at Harry Reid International, and once you clear immigration your transfer takes you to New York-New York. The afternoon and evening are free. Staying up until a normal local bedtime helps you adjust to the time change.
Walk north along Las Vegas Boulevard. The Bellagio fountain shows are free to watch from the lakeside pavement and run from the afternoon until midnight. Further on, The LINQ is home to the High Roller observation wheel, a ticketed ride best timed for sunset. A taxi back saves walking the return leg.
Take a taxi or bus north to Downtown, the city’s original casino district. Fremont Street is a pedestrian mall under a screen canopy that carries a light show after dark. The older casinos here are smaller and plainer than the Strip resorts. The Neon Museum, a yard of restored casino signs, is a short ride away and needs booking ahead.
Two day trips suit this free day. Hoover Dam stands on the Nevada–Arizona border, 30 miles south-east of Las Vegas, and the Bureau of Reclamation runs guided tours from its visitor centre. Grand Canyon West takes a full day by coach, or less by helicopter. Either can be added to your quote or booked once you arrive.
On four nights, your transfer takes you back to Harry Reid International for the flight home. On six nights, head for Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, 17 miles west of the Strip, with a 13-mile scenic drive past sandstone cliffs. From 1 October to 31 May, entering the drive between 8am and 5pm needs a timed-entry reservation on Recreation.gov.
Six-night guests have one more free day for the pool, a matinee or a second excursion, then a final night in town. The following morning your transfer collects you from New York-New York for the flight home. If the flight leaves late, the front desk can hold your bags after check-out.

New York-New York stands at 3790 South Las Vegas Boulevard, on the corner of Tropicana Avenue towards the south end of the Strip. Its frontage recreates the Manhattan skyline, with a Statue of Liberty replica on the corner and a Brooklyn Bridge replica along the boulevard. From Manchester, the non-stop service is seasonal, and the current season ends on 23 October 2026. From other UK airports, and from Manchester out of season, you connect once, usually through Heathrow or a US hub.
A connection adds several hours to the journey each way. That matters more on a four-night stay than on six, so regional departures are worth weighing against the train or a short flight to Heathrow.
The National Weather Service office in Las Vegas describes the city as the driest major metropolitan area in the continental US, so rain rarely decides your dates. Temperature does.
Summer afternoons reach triple figures in Fahrenheit, above 38°C, and July and August bring short, heavy monsoon storms. In those months, walk the Strip before lunch and keep the afternoon for the pool or indoor sights. From December to February the days are mild, but the coldest nights can drop below freezing, so pack a warm layer for evenings on foot.
Four nights works as a first look, or as the last stop of a longer American trip when you have already adjusted to Pacific time. Arriving straight from the UK, the first full day can be slow, so four nights leaves little slack if you also want a full-day excursion.
Choose six nights if a Grand Canyon or Hoover Dam day is a priority, or if you want at least one day with nothing booked at all.

Friends aged 18 to 20 can travel, but Nevada law bars anyone under 21 from gambling or lingering in casino gaming areas. Their evenings will centre on shows, restaurants and the Strip itself.
