Hammamet's beach season is long and dependable. Typical highs climb from around 24°C in May to 28°C in June and about 32°C in July and August, then ease to 29°C in September and 25°C in October. The sea is slower to warm and peaks at around 26°C in August and September, so September is often the best month for swimming.
July and August bring the most heat, and occasional hot, dusty winds from the Sahara can push temperatures well above average for a day or two. June and late September to mid-October are more comfortable for trips to Tunis, Carthage or the market in Nabeul. Winter is mild, with highs of 15–17°C, but wetter, with around ten rainy days in January.
Ramadan is expected to begin on or around 8 February 2027 and end in early March, well outside the main beach season. All-inclusive hotels run largely as normal, but in town many cafés close during daylight hours and life shifts to the evening.
