Seven nights on the south coast of Mykonos rather than in town. The Myconian Ambassador sits on the slope above Platis Gialos, one of the island’s sheltered bays, so the sand is a short walk downhill and the evenings in town are a short ride away.
Apart from the transfers, the week is yours to shape. The suggested plan fits in a Delos trip, a day inland, an optional boat day and a couple of nights out, with the rest left for the beach and the spa. Expect a quiet base by day and as much nightlife as you choose to go and find.

Fly to Mykonos and meet your private driver for the transfer to the Myconian Ambassador. Check in, go down for a swim, and keep the first evening simple with dinner close to the hotel.
Head into town in the late afternoon. The lanes were laid out in a tangle to confuse pirates, so let yourself get lost between Matoyianni Street, the white Paraportiani church and the old harbour. Stay for sunset from Little Venice, with the Kato Mili windmills on the ridge behind.
Catch a morning boat from the Old Port in Mykonos Town. The crossing takes about 30 minutes. Delos was one of the great religious and trading centres of the ancient Aegean and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Leave time for the Terrace of the Lions, the house mosaics and the site museum.
Take a taxi inland to Ano Mera, the island’s only other village of any size. See the Panagia Tourliani monastery, then settle in for a long lunch on the square. Be back on the beach by late afternoon, when the sun is lower.
Charter a boat, at extra cost, to reach coves on the north and east coasts that are hard to get to by road. They have no beach clubs, and the swimming is good on calm days. Ask about the wind before you book.
Keep one day for the spa and the beach below the hotel. Book treatments early in the week to get the time you want, then eat at the hotel rather than heading into town.
Breakfast at the hotel, then your private transfer back to Mykonos airport for the flight home to the UK.

Mykonos holidays are sold on the nightlife, but the island splits in two. The south coast has the calm bays, and town has the bars. Platis Gialos sits a short ride from the lanes and far enough away to sleep.
Mykonos is a summer island. The season runs from late May to early October, and outside it most beach clubs close and direct UK flights stop. The Myconian Ambassador keeps the same calendar. It publishes no fixed dates, but trade listings show it closed from 1 November to 30 April. Plan on May to October. Average highs, from National Observatory of Athens records:
For 2027, June and September give the best balance of warm days and space on the sand. The other catch in high summer is the meltemi, a northerly wind that blows hardest in July and August, builds through the afternoon and drops at night. South-facing bays such as Platis Gialos, Psarou and Ornos stay calm when the north coast is all whitecaps.
This base suits couples and friends who want beach days with the odd big night. If a week of clubbing is the point, it is the wrong choice. You will spend a lot on taxis back from town at 4am.
Direct flights from London run in summer only and take about 4 hours. Greece is two hours ahead of the UK. Athens is a 35-minute flight away, so an Athens city break pairs easily with the week at either end.
Delos is the one excursion worth planning around. The site ticket is €20 (€10 reduced), and the boat fare is on top. In summer 2026 the site opened 08:00–19:30, with last entry at 19:00. Hours shorten through the autumn, so check the Ephorate of Antiquities of the Cyclades page before you go. There is no weekly closing day, though it shuts on 1 May and Easter Sunday.

Budget properly for meals and drinks. Mykonos is among the most expensive places in Greece, and beach-club sunbeds and cocktail bars in town are priced for the yacht crowd. Tavernas inland cost noticeably less.
Your UK passport must have been issued less than 10 years before you arrive and be valid for 3 months after you leave the Schengen area. You can stay 90 days in any 180. The EU Entry/Exit System is live, but Greece has told the FCDO it will not take UK travellers' fingerprints or photos. ETIAS is not yet in operation, so check FCDO advice before you fly.
