Maldives twin centre holidays
Each of these packages flies you from the UK into a Gulf city first, then on to Malรฉ. The Gulf stop breaks a long journey in half, so you reach the island rested rather than straight off an overnight flight.
- Abu Dhabi is the quieter, beach-resort start. Saadiyat Island has the Louvre Abu Dhabi on its doorstep, and the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is a short drive away.
- Doha is compact and suits a short cultural stop: Souq Waqif, the Museum of Islamic Art and the Corniche are close together.
Dubai is the third Gulf starting point, with the most to do and the widest hotel choice. It is not in the table above; our guide to the Dubai and Maldives holiday package compares its hotels and nights.
The Maldives half is where the packages differ most. The Abu Dhabi version is bed and breakfast at both hotels, with a shared seaplane to the resort in Dhaalu Atoll. The Doha version is all-inclusive in both places, which matters in the Maldives, where every meal and drink is bought on one island. If you want a fixed budget for the beach week, all-inclusive removes the biggest variable.
Two versions are built around race weekends: the Qatar Grand Prix on 27 to 29 November 2026 and the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on 4 to 6 December 2026. Formula 1 has said the season finale will move to Europe if the Middle East security situation does not improve, with a decision expected by mid-October. Both race weekends are subject to that decision and will be confirmed at booking. The Abu Dhabi package includes grandstand tickets, an all-inclusive Maldives stay and seaplane transfers.
Dubai and Mauritius twin centre holidays
Mauritius is a better choice than the Maldives if a week on one small resort island sounds restrictive. It is a large volcanic island with mountains, tea estates, the Black River Gorges and Port Louis markets, so a day with a driver covers a lot.
The trade-off is the transfer. Mauritius resorts are reached by road rather than by seaplane. The airport is in the south-east and Turtle Bay is on the north-west coast, so allow for a cross-island drive. The package includes daily breakfast and private airport transfers in both places, so the drive is arranged for you.

Dubai and Bali
Bali is the other Dubai beach pairing, with culture on the beach half as well. The package puts the longer stay inland in Ubud, among rice terraces and temples, with a private pool villa and breakfast daily. The trip can be extended to 12 or 14 nights.
USA twin centre holidays
USA pairs are the easiest twin centres to plan, with one long-haul flight each way and a domestic hop in the middle. Both city-and-Vegas packages finish in Las Vegas, so the late nights come at the end rather than after a transatlantic arrival.
- Los Angeles and Las Vegas is the tighter pair. The flight between them is short, and the Vegas hotel sits on the Strip. Day 6 is left free for an optional Grand Canyon tour.
- New York and Las Vegas covers two opposite American cities. Allow for the three-hour time difference between the coasts on your middle day.

Iceland and New York: the stopover-style twin
This pair works because Reykjavik sits between London and the US east coast. The package starts in Iceland, with a day for the Golden Circle and time for the Blue Lagoon, then crosses to Manhattan. Winter departures add a chance of the northern lights.
Thailand twin centre holidays
The choice that matters in Thailand is which coast. Phuket and Kata face the Andaman Sea on the west coast, while Hua Hin sits on the Gulf of Thailand, a drive south of Bangkok. The two coasts have different rainy months, so ask about your exact travel month before choosing a beach.
The two packages also run in opposite directions. Phuket and Bangkok puts the beach first and ends with the city, which suits a final shopping stop before the flight home. Hua Hin and Bangkok begins at the beach resort and finishes near Thonglor, a district known for its restaurants and bars. Hua Hin itself is quieter than Patong or Kata, with a royal summer palace and night markets.
Caribbean twin centre holidays
Both Caribbean packages start in a US city, then fly south to the beach. The city stop breaks up the journey and gives the trip a second character that a single Caribbean resort cannot.
- New York and Punta Cana pairs Manhattan with an all-inclusive resort in the Dominican Republic, with space for water sports and an optional Saona Island trip.
- Orlando and Puerto Rico is the family pick among Orlando twin centre holidays: theme park days first, then Old San Juan, the El Yunque rainforest and a bioluminescent bay.

Twin centre safari and beach holidays
Safari and beach is the pairing that most needs two centres. Game drives start before dawn and again in the late afternoon, so a safari week is tiring, and a beach stay afterwards is the rest. Putting safari first means the early starts are over before you switch off.
The Kenya package starts with a night in Nairobi, then moves to a tented camp in the Maasai Mara before the flight to Zanzibar. Zanzibar adds Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to the beach half. The camp makes this the most expensive pairing in the list.

A twin centre works best when both halves are in season at once, so check the second destination before you settle on dates for the first.

Outside the overlap is not a reason to rule a pairing out. It is a reason to put more nights in the half that is in season, and to price the trip both ways.

FCDO advice for the UAE and Qatar reports strikes in the region since 8 July 2026. It warns of possible flight cancellations and airspace closures at short notice. That affects six pairings in the list: the four Maldives packages, Dubai and Mauritius, and Dubai and Bali.
Older advice online still quotes a 60-day visa-free stay for Thailand. Both Thailand packages fit well inside the current limit.
How to split the nights
Across the packages in the table, city stops run three or four nights and beach stays run longer. There are two good reasons for that shape.
- Cities need fewer nights than you think. Three full days covers the main sights in Dubai, Doha or Abu Dhabi, and the heat outside winter shortens each day further.
- Beaches need more. The transfer day is lost to flights, a seaplane or a long drive, so a four-night beach stay gives only three usable days.
