Jumeirah Al Qasr Dubai is the palace-style flagship of Madinat Jumeirah, the resort of canals, gardens and sister hotels on Jumeirah Road. It photographs beautifully, but several of its best-known facilities are not operating this year. This review covers the hotel as it stands at the end of September 2026: which room to book, what is open, what is shut, and who it now suits.

What is Jumeirah Al Qasr Dubai like?
Al Qasr means โthe palaceโ in Arabic, and the design leans into it. The building was conceived as a sheikhโs summer residence, approached along a drive lined with 18 golden horse statues. Inside, the public spaces are high, formal and heavy on carved wood, lanterns and brass.
The hotel sits at the seaward end of Madinat Jumeirah, where the canals open out towards the beach. Gardens, bridges and walkways connect it to the rest of the resort, so the setting feels closer to a small waterside town than a single hotel.
The trade-off is scale and formality. Corridors are long, the lobby is grand rather than cosy, and the style is traditional Arabian rather than contemporary. If you prefer clean, modern lines, one of the sister hotels may suit you better.
Which room should you book at Jumeirah Al Qasr?
Every room and suite has a balcony or terrace. The real decision is the view and whether club privileges are worth paying for. Jumeirah uses consistent names, so the category tells you most of what you need.
- Deluxe Arabian Room: looks inland over the gardens and waterways. This is the best value way into the hotel.
- Deluxe Ocean Room and Deluxe Lagoon Room: the same room type with a view towards the sea or the lagoon. Worth the supplement if you plan long afternoons on the balcony.
- Club Arabian Room and Club Ocean Room: club-level rooms with added privileges. Ask us for the current club benefits on your dates before you pay the difference.
- Family categories: the Club Arabian Family Room, the Two-Bedroom Arabian and Ocean Family Rooms, and the Two-Bedroom Family Suite.
- Suites: Arabian and Ocean Junior Suites, a One-Bedroom Ocean Suite, a One-Bedroom Arabian Suite, a Two-Bedroom Arabian Junior Suite and the One-Bedroom Royal Suite.
Our advice is simple. Couples on a short stay get most from a Deluxe Arabian Room, because the waterways are the view that makes this hotel different. Upgrade to Ocean only if a sea view matters more to you than the canals.
Club rooms make sense on longer stays, when you will use the privileges every day rather than once. On a three-night break, the money often goes further on a better view or an extra night.
Whatโs open at Jumeirah Al Qasr in 2026?
This is the section most hotel pages leave out. At the end of September 2026, the hotel is open and taking guests, but several of the things it is famous for are not available.

Wild Wadi entry is a hotel guest benefit whenever the park operates. The parkโs own website still shows standard opening hours, which may simply not have been updated. Ask us to confirm the position before you book.
The Burj Al Arab matters for the view as much as for dining. The sail-shaped tower sits just along the shore and still dominates the skyline from the beach.
The practical effect is fewer dinner choices on site. The wider resort and the souk still have restaurants, and Jumeirah updates its dining page as venues reopen. We check that page again when we confirm your booking.
Is Jumeirah Al Qasr good for families?
Yes, with the caveats in the table above. The family room categories let a family of four stay together without two bookings. The beach, the gardens and the boat rides give children plenty to do without leaving the resort.
The Jumeirah Circle kidsโ club is for ages 2 to 10. Five to ten-year-olds can stay for a full day. Two to four-year-olds join a morning or afternoon session, and a parent or nanny may stay with them. Session times can change, so ask us for the current schedule before you travel.

Beach, pools and Talise Spa
The private beach faces the Arabian Gulf and is shared by guests of the Madinat Jumeirah hotels.
Pools are spread through the gardens, with some close to the hotel and others further along the waterways. Published pool counts vary between sources, so we do not quote one. Ask us which pools are closest to your room category when you book.
Talise Spa is the Madinat Jumeirah resort spa, open to Al Qasr guests. Treatments are paid extras. Book popular slots before you travel if you have a particular day in mind.
Souk Madinat Jumeirah and getting around
Souk Madinat Jumeirah is the covered market at the heart of the resort, with shops, cafรฉs and waterside restaurants. From Al Qasr you can walk there through the grounds, so an evening out needs no taxi at all.
Inside the resort, traditional wooden abras run between stops on the canals. They link the hotels, restaurants and the souk, and they are the most enjoyable way to reach dinner.
The resort sits on Jumeirah Beach in Umm Suqeim, between Dubai Marina and Downtown. Taxis are the simplest way into the rest of the city.
