The spread is wide: the same budget buys three nights in Dubai or twelve in Bali, and the cabin and month can double the figure.

Lowest current prices are per person, two sharing, with return economy flights from the UK. A five-star Dubai break starts at about £1,200 for three nights in June 2027. Longer trips departing from October 2026 run from about £1,500 for an 8-night India tour to about £6,200 for a 10-night Kenya safari with Zanzibar. Business class adds roughly £1,450 to £4,400.
What Defines a Luxury Holiday in 2026?
Price alone does not make a trip luxurious. The packages priced below share a handful of features. Check for each one on any quote.
- A five-star resort or a top-tier boutique or safari lodge, named in the quote rather than “or similar”.
- A room above the hotel’s entry category where the room is the point of the stay.
- A board basis stated in writing, so you know which meals the price covers.
- The option of a premium cabin on the long-haul flights, priced on the same dates.

What Factors Influence Luxury Holiday Pricing?
On the same hotel, four levers do most of the work: the cabin, the month, the room and the number of nights.
Flight class
The cabin is usually the biggest single jump. The table compares business class with economy on the same package in the same month.

On the Abu Dhabi and Maldives trip, business class more than doubles the price. Part of every premium fare is tax. UK Air Passenger Duty on a flight of 2,001 to 5,500 miles is £102 in economy but £244 in any higher cabin. Beyond 5,500 miles, which covers Bali and South Africa, the rates are £106 and £253. Month of travel
The same holiday can cost thousands more in its busiest month. These rows set each package’s cheapest future month against its peak.

Both Barbados packages are dearest from January to March. The two Indian Ocean twin-centres peak in February or March, and Bali’s highest row is July. Outside July and August, Bali’s 2027 economy rows stay between £2,149pp and £2,299pp, so most months cost within £150 of each other. Dubai runs the other way: the One&Only 3-night rows are lowest in June 2027 and highest in December, at £1,879pp in 2026 and £2,099pp in 2027.

Room category
The room can matter as much as the hotel. The Bali package ends in a one-bedroom private pool villa at Seascape Sanur, and the Sandals week is booked in a suite with butler service.
The Abu Dhabi and Maldives twin-centre shows how to spend selectively. Its four city nights are in a standard room, and its six island nights are in an overwater villa. Paying for the villa only where the room is the attraction keeps the city leg cheaper.
Length of stay
The long-haul flight is a fixed cost, so each extra night costs less than the average night. At One&Only One Za’abeel, the 5-night option in June 2027 is £1,489pp. That is £310 more than the 3-night price for two extra nights at a five-star hotel.
The saving shrinks in peak months. In December 2026 the same two extra nights add £720, taking the 5-night price to £2,599pp. Stretch the stay in a quiet month, where each night is cheapest.
How much does a luxury holiday cost beyond the package price?
A few charges are set by governments rather than the hotel, and some are added to your bill locally.
- Maldives: a green tax of US$12 per person per night at resorts, and 17% tourism GST on resort bills for extras. The departure charge is US$50 in economy and US$120 in business, and may already be collected in the air fare. Our Maldives holiday guide covers resort bills in more detail.
- Bali: a tourist levy of IDR 150,000 (about £8) per visit, plus an Indonesian visa on arrival at IDR 500,000, payable by cash or card.
- Anything outside the board basis: on a breakfast-only package, lunches, dinners, bar bills and excursions are paid at the resort. Ask for a sample menu price before you travel.
- Travel insurance: it is not part of a package price, and ATOL protection is not a substitute for it. Buy cover when you book, so cancellation is protected from the day you pay a deposit.
How to Maximise Value on Luxury Holidays
- Check the month either side. The Dubai and Mauritius twin-centre is £3,519pp in January 2027 and £4,659pp in February 2027, so a four-week shift saves £1,140 each.
- Upgrade in a quiet month. On Sandals Royal Barbados, business class adds £4,930 over economy in February 2027, almost three times the October 2026 uplift.
- Take the earliest safari date. The Kenya and Zanzibar rows rise every month, from £6,199pp in October 2026 to £6,919pp in April 2027.
- Compare quotes like for like. Check nights, board, room type, cabin, transfers and taxes before you compare two totals.
