Day by Day
You land at Noi Bai International Airport and transfer to The Q Hotel. On day 2 a private Jeep tour covers the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the Temple of Literature, the French Quarter and Buddhist and Taoist temples, ending with local street food. Day 3 is free for the Old Quarter markets or a walk around Hoan Kiem Lake.
A drive of about 2.5 hours reaches Tuan Chau harbour, where you board the Indochine Cruise for lunch among the limestone karsts. The afternoon allows a short trek, a swim or time on the sundeck. Next morning brings Tai Chi on deck and, after breakfast, a limestone grotto. Back in harbour, you transfer to the airport, fly to Da Nang and drive on to Hoi An.
A guided day trip from Hoi An to Van Lang fishing village. You try traditional fishing from a round basket boat, then explore the waterways of the coconut forest by boat. Your guide explains how the village fishes along the way, and the rest of the afternoon is yours.
Three days with nothing scheduled. The UNESCO-listed Ancient Town, its central market and the riverside are all within reach of the hotel. Excursions can be booked locally once you arrive, or added to your quote before you travel so they are arranged in advance.
A morning transfer to Da Nang airport and a flight south to Saigon, where you are met and taken to the Harmony Saigon Hotel. Day 11 is free for the War Remnants Museum, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Central Post Office or Ben Thanh Market, all in or near District 1.
A flight takes you from Ho Chi Minh City to Siem Reap in Cambodia, with a transfer to Metta Residence and Spa on arrival. On day 13 your guide leads you through the galleries and terraces of Angkor Wat, and a local monk performs a traditional blessing ritual for you before you return to town.
Day 14 has no fixed plans. Siem Reap’s markets and galleries are a short tuk-tuk ride from the hotel, or you can spend the day by the pool. On day 15, after a final breakfast, you transfer to the airport for the flight home.

Many UK itineraries for Vietnam and Cambodia give Hoi An two nights. Clothes made by an Ancient Town tailor normally need a fitting and a return visit, which a two-night stop rarely allows. An Bang beach is about 10 minutes from the Ancient Town. The My Son Cham sanctuary, another UNESCO site, is around 40 km inland, a half-day trip if you want to add it.
The cost of that time is what the route skips: no Hue, no Mekong Delta, no Phnom Penh, and a short stay in Saigon. For the imperial city, look at the version with Hue. For the Cambodian capital, the Vietnam and Cambodia tour via Phnom Penh runs south to north. For beach time, look at the Mui Ne version.

No single month sits in the best window at all four stops. February and April each catch three: February with a cool, grey north, April with Siem Reap at its hottest before the rains. Autumn departures put your Hoi An stay in the wet season, so if Hoi An is why you chose this route, avoid October and November.
British citizens can enter Vietnam without a visa for up to 45 days. Before leaving the arrival airport, check that the date on your entry stamp is 45 days from arrival, because immigration will not change it later.
Cambodia is different. You need a 30-day tourist visa. Apply for an e-visa at least four days before travel, or buy a visa on arrival with US dollars and a passport photo. Air arrivals also complete the free e-Arrival card in the seven days before landing.

Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport opened in October 2023, about 50 km east of the town. Allow roughly an hour for the transfer on arrival and departure days.
