UK operators sell very different products under the same name. Some quote hotel and ticket only, some base you in Dubai, and some leave the ticket as an optional extra. Also match the nights to the timetable. Track action runs Friday to Sunday, so a stay that ends on race day leaves no margin for a delayed flight or a late finish. Ask for the exact check-in and check-out dates, and add a night after the race if the quote stops at Sunday.

Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2026 timetable in UK time
UK clocks go back on 25 October, so the UK is on GMT in December and Abu Dhabi runs 4 hours ahead. Every track session falls in the afternoon or evening locally, which leaves mornings free for the pool or the city.
- Friday 4 December. Practice 1 at 13:30 in Abu Dhabi (09:30 UK) and Practice 2 at 17:00 (13:00 UK).
- Saturday 5 December. Practice 3 at 14:30 (10:30 UK) and qualifying at 18:00 (14:00 UK).
- Sunday 6 December. The race starts at 17:00 in Abu Dhabi, which is 13:00 in the UK.
On a general admission ticket, use Friday practice to walk the perimeter and try different viewing points before you settle on a spot for qualifying and the race. Friday also lets you learn the route from your hotel to the gates, and where the food, water and shade are, while the pressure is off. Support races and fan-zone events fill the gaps between Formula 1 sessions. The promoter publishes the full track schedule nearer the weekend, so treat support-race times as provisional until then.
Grandstand or general admission: which Yas Marina ticket?
Yas Marina splits spectators between one general admission area and a set of named grandstands. The choice decides what you see, how long you queue and how much shade you get in the afternoon.
Abu Dhabi Hill (general admission)
Abu Dhabi Hill sits behind the Main Grandstand. It looks across several turns and down the back straight, and a big screen shows the rest of the lap. There are no numbered seats, so arrive early on race day to claim a spot with a clear sightline. It suits first visitors who care more about atmosphere than a numbered seat.
Main Grandstand
The Main Grandstand faces the start and finish straight, the grid and the pit lane. This is where you watch the start, the pit stops and the podium. It is the stand to choose for seeing the race decided rather than cars passing at one corner.
The other grandstands
The North Grandstand sits at the hairpin. The West Grandstand covers Turns 6 and 7, where cars slow sharply and drivers attempt overtakes. The South Grandstand overlooks fast corners. North Straight, West Straight and Marina complete the list. Ask for a seating plan before choosing any of these, because sightlines vary within each stand.
Buying direct or as part of a package
Official tickets are sold by the promoter at abudhabigp.com and through the Formula 1 ticket store at tickets.formula1.com. Buying separately means three contracts: airline, hotel and ticket seller. In a package they are one booking, with one company responsible for the whole trip if flights change or the schedule moves.
Where to stay: Yas Island, the city or Dubai?
Location matters more than room size on a race weekend, because you cross the island to the circuit at least three times.
- Yas Island. The shortest journey to the gates. The W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island is built over the circuit itself, so guests walk to the entrance rather than join the traffic.
- Central Abu Dhabi. The city is about 20 km from Yas Island. Hotels cost less and you are close to the Corniche and the museums, but expect slow traffic after the race.
- Dubai. Some UK operators base race-goers in Dubai to cut hotel costs. The trade-off is a long road transfer each track day, which adds up over a four-day event.

Getting to Yas Marina Circuit
Formula 1 strongly encourages spectators to use public transport, because roads around Yas Island jam once the race and concerts finish. The options are simple once you know them.
- Free shuttles. In previous years, the Circuit Circular and Yas Courtesy buses have run free for ticket holders every 15 minutes until 1am, linking Yas Island hotels, Yas Mall and the gates.
- Public buses. Routes 102 and 190 run from Abu Dhabi Bus Terminal to Yas Island in about an hour.
- Taxis. Taxis drop close to the circuit gates. Queues for the return journey are longest straight after the final concert.
- Driving. Parking is available at Yas Mall, with shuttles on to the circuit. It makes sense only for those staying outside Abu Dhabi.
From a city hotel, leave at least an hour before the session you most want to see.
Before you travel: UAE rules for race-goers
The Grand Prix has a festival feel, but UAE law still applies inside and outside the circuit. The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office lists the rules that most often catch British visitors out.
- Alcohol. Drinking is legal only in licensed venues, and the legal age in Abu Dhabi is 21. Drinking in public, or being drunk in public, is illegal anywhere in the UAE.
- Language and gestures. Swearing and rude gestures can lead to a jail sentence or deportation. This includes posts and messages online.
- Public affection. Kissing in public can lead to arrest. Hold back the celebrations on the way out of the circuit.
- Photography. Ask before photographing people. Licences may be needed for drones, powerful cameras and some binoculars, so check before packing long lenses.
- Dress. Away from the hotel and the circuit, women are advised to cover shoulders and knees in public places such as malls.
